Lao's Affinity Growth Rate is insanely fast. So you won't have to spend too much time raising it to max. This is my second playthrough. I reset specifically because of Lao. My goal was exactly what i posted above. Also, in Doug's fifth Heart-to-Heart, Doug actually gives you any gear Lao had on him after he's gone. You're welcome.
