I worked 11 years in the videogame industry. Though I am no longer apart of it, I still know a thing or two about it. I can tell you from experience that Fatal Frames handling by NOA was a lazy and cheap effort. If you build hype and advertise religiously you can sell just about anything. Nintendo just didn't want to bother to do that with Fatal Frame. Demand could have been higher if NOA tried.
