Surely it was at least a year, knowing how long Nintendo takes to respond to stuff probably much longer. So if they didn’t push the panic button until, say, mid-2014 that clearly hasn’t been enough time to make any kind of high quality game. A good game takes at least two to three years, ideally longer, and clearly there’s not been enough time to start anything from scratch.
