yea in xenoblade (especially the first one) every level matters so set yourself a goal and grind to at least the level of the enemy you are stuck on. a level 30 amadasius (or however you spell it) for at least you and two party members and the g-buster weapon are enough to beat up the forfexes in sylvalum (which are level 53ish so save often) and that can take you to level 50,
