Usually I need about 15 minutes for a high rank monster with high rank gear when playing solo. That's mostly monsters tend to be up in your face a lot in this game, which makes it hard to keep them at the right distance. I also need to get used to the vertical gameplay, since you need to aim a lot more then in previous entries of MH.
