They have to be careful as to not change the story. The New Play Control! version of Pikmin was very different from the GameCube version, as they made way too many changes. But adding another character to Pikmin would change the game ENTIRELY, as now you wouldn't have that ''all alone'' feeling you get with just one leader. Also, new characters change the gameplay, making it easier.
