I'm no way near to a master, but here is this: what you see in this screenshot are the lists of abilities through the gear you have. I mainly look for the special charge ups (it's fun using killer wails and ink strikes), ink saver main/sub, special saver, and defense up. You'll want to go for damage up if you're using an aerospray or carbon roller. Get thst extra point of damage.
