I used to do the same thing when I was 11-16 - taking notebooks with me to write stories in. I got made fun of for it, but they gave up because I wouldn't reply to them or stop doing it, so I was too boring to bother. I would be wary of writing in places with people like that, in case they try and steal the book. I would try writing at home instead. Typing is easier, anyway! [...]
