I think we have to wait for an update for the US version,since the UK got the Amiibos before the US did,and from what I can tell of the UK YouTube video I watched on Shovel Knight Amiibos there was an Icon on the map screen that you used to sync your SK Amiibo and you can Co-op or control the Amiibo yourself,near as I can tell.Well at least I got a SK Amiibo for now.
