Sadly, it's not like the storyline where you can beat someone with a better Rank and not have to battle others before them: you have to beat all 10 before you move up a Rank. Also, if you skip battles in order of "Placement", it won't register on the MeTaMo top-screen records. Gotta do things in order, I guess.
