Well, how would you feel if you left your family, then came back to find them all dead. He's been through a lot. He would do anything to help out Frey. When he asks Frey to marry him, he climbs onto a rooftop and yells, "I love you, so marry me, Ok?!" He can be annoying, and stubborn, but I think calling him the worst character is a little too harsh.
