It's fairly simple, you play just like shovel knight, but at first you'd have a hard time with plague knight, i.e. after hitting the Y button, hold it down to jump at a higher rate. I also heard about your question and I have just the answer for that. Just try to beat it regularly like in shovel knight's story, that's all.
