i had a similar problem, get a usb ethernet adaptor and if your wii u is too far from your modem, get one of those units that puts the internet through your power lines (50 bucks for perfect internet everywhere in the home, best buy), it is wicked and lets me have a plugged in connection anywhere. good luck!
