Yeah, maybe the fact that Ringabel can't remember his sad past (and still can't if his surprise about what Alternis told him is any indication) made him more carefree and less aggressive. I can't imagine Alternis ever being that flirtatious, he's far more serious, aggressive and not as extrovert or fond of himself as Ringabel is.
