I hate those, too. They aren't even what I classify as 'RPs'. They're mostly just a bunch of kids who are either ODers, mary/gary sues or are desperate for popularity. I'm a roleplayer, but the RPs I make/join usually have a plot and a story, not just a setting. And in my opinion the good, well-written RPs are actually really fun.
