We're gonna be stuck with Pearl for the next 2 years of splatfest/stage rotations. So it's ridiculous to think she's a villain. My theory still stands, just like Inklings didnt seem to be too worried about the dissapearance of the Great Zapfish in the first game, either Pearl cares very little about Callie, or maybe she already knows of a search party looking for her.
