Lynels aren't that hard to kill once you have the right equipment, Urbosa's Fury, and learn their attack patterns. I can kill a Silver Lynel without putting any wear and tear on my melee weapons. Silver Lynels will drop Sapphires, Rubies, Diamonds, and even Star Fragments.
