Simple! Once when you finish the final boss in the game, you will unlock Super Sonic mode, which ables you to start with 50 Rings and when you jump, you will enter Super form. When I performed it, I didn't know what level I did it on, I was just messing around with the game. I think its the level where tails's plane becomes broken and you only play as Sonic at that point.
