From what I've heard the issue was with the controls. Some people (not me) thought they got old and repetitive after a while. Others disliked it for its length (I had no issue with that ). From what I've heard, some WL fans didn't like how WL4, and by extension Shake It, made it so Wario could be killed again, as it took away from what had been one the series most unique aspects.
