I used some food to raise Link's defense up 3 stages first. That seemed to be most helpful. I believe most of his attacks won't do anymore than 2 hearts after that. Other than that, move behind something when he charges at you. Backflipping at the last moment will activate a Flurry Rush, which will get in a decent amount of damage.
