Try playing around with gems + skill links. Dunban/Seven with high agility don't even need to be healed often because they dodge pretty much everything. And for when you do need to get healed: Light Heal and You Can Do It. Melia's damage is potentially much higher than Shulk's, if you control her properly. Seven and Dunban can also dodge-tank while dealing equal or more damage than Shulk.
