Gotcha, for normal difficulty I needed gold rush because I'd only get between 6000-9000 gold depending on how long I wanted to prolong the fight. To your other answer, if you're playing Smash a lot I understand putting it on the x button. I've been lucky with my DS systems and haven't had many issues aside from a jammed b button on the OG DS. But yeah, better to be safe than sorry.
