PLOT: Eggman's back again to get revenge on Sonic with a new element he's discovered- Ragnium! In the process of this, he's opened up these fissures that have caused these weird weather patterns with his newest invention D-FEKT guarding them. Sonic and friends go out to stop this, only to end up with new fire and ice powers, which is quickly thrown away to never be discussed again.
