The game implies Mido bullies Link because of Saria. Also, she probably feels responsibility for him since he has no fairy to advise and protect him. Then the day he gets one, their father dies, Link leaves on a dangerous quest, and eventually monsters invade the forest, forcing the Kokiri to stay indoors. Also, it's likely Saria is killed in the Forest Temple, so I bummed myself out drawing this.
