You just don't appreciate the fact that just one Carrot/Potato can yield many more! You need to know this! Because the only other way to get those things are to steal 'em from Villages. And sometimes, it's difficult to even find one village. So if you want to have a farm that grows Carrots and Potatoes, without having to go find a Village, then get killing zombies!
