In the original game, it was a pushover, really. You just had to cut off its four blooms to kill it. You could even one-hit kill it if you used a bomb at the right time. The Hyrule Warriors version of Manhandla fights more like the Oracle of Seasons version, in which the blooms were only vulnerable to the boomerang when they were open.
