I find it a little disappointing (if true) as it looked like they'd learned some lessons but this could potentially be the old modern day Nintendo two steps forward one back thing. If it doesn't sell well early on and it's seemingly now more of a faff to develop for support will dry up. The saving grace this time is like you say the platforms (potentially) being unified so previously 3DS games...
