When you use a chain attack, then if used well (such as same colour arts) you will have multiple chains which mean landing lots of hits in the frozen time (meaning you don't get attacked). It's a useful health drainer for bosses and can help land stuff like break, topple, daze, sleep, etc. It's really useful if used correctly, but it does still have chance and affinity circles to worry about.
