In the 3rd world get up on a white panel thing (there are multi-colored ones everywhere), press and hold the down arrow (to make Mario duck), after a minute Mario will fall *behind* the panel and you'll be able to walk behind all panels, bushes, etc. When get to the end of the world you'll be able to go behind the blackness and into a secret room where a toad will give you the "warp whistle".
