I think there might be a solution to the scratches. Some people recommend placing a micro-fibre material (such as a glasses wipe) on the Nintendo switch dock.Alternatively, some people have been creating plain and themed dock covers and are selling them for around £10-£16. I believe this is around $12-$20.
