Bane is more intelligent and strategic than Venom, but it was unlikely that he could deduce the symbiote's weaknesses to fire and sound-based attacks. Even if he did, he had no way of abusing either of those weaknesses, whereas Venom could exploit Bane's primary weakness by cutting off the tubes supplying the Venom serum into his brain.
