Also, in case you don't already know, you can enter and exit the castle as much as you'd like. It doesn't trigger the end of the game. You can trigger the end of the game if you get all the way to the top of the castle but you'll know well in advance that you are headed that way and can avoid doing so if you wish. I used to visit there all the time before I actually beat the game ^^
