Not to be a wet blanket, but technically what all of you are talking about are FCs, "Fanmade Characters", which is when you create a character that is held from the world of said game/tv show that has already been created by someone else. OCs, "Original Characters", on the other hand are characters that someone made up on the top of there head that isn't from any game or tv show. So that's that.
