That sucks. Hopefully they'll fix it in the upcoming DLC, I've read that it should include some bug fixes. Ah well, I ended up making Leo my furmiliar, it's my second-favorite herding cat. Tiger I couldn't keep as my furmiliar because it was my material finder and they stop finding stuff if they're furmiliars (herders keep herding if you have a barn in your home area).
