Are you using a pitchfork to clean up the "doo-doo" in the barn? Are you pushing the animal outside in the morning (in nice weather, including snow (but not rain or blizzard)) and pushing it back inside the barn before 21:00 (9 pm)? If you get a pet with the "herding/recovery" ability it will take care of this for you.
