Along this new journey to redeem his promise of being the very best, he'll run across old friends, also grown up & leading their own lives (Brock as a doctor, Dawn & May as Coordinators, Gary as the Kanto Professor, etc.). It'll have a more serious feel with Ash taking his goal very seriously this time & a little worn by time's failures, but it'll still have a fair bit of the humor we know too.
