Here in Australia we have 7 years in 'primary school' (kindergarten to grade/year 6) then we move on to high. Some schools only have grades 7-10 so you'd go to another for 11 & 12, but mine has grades 7-12. If you fail at my school, there's no repeating years- I have 1 chance or I leave. School for 'gifted+talented' & I'm near the bottom of grade 9 because there's too many geniuses.
