Of course, I'd argue that the invincibility is justified - Circus' attacks leave you vulnerable if they end where you're in a position where the boss or its attacks are in contact - otherwise it'd be as bad as the Super Star version of Parasol! Return to Dream Land gave Parasol (and a lot of abilities, actually) much needed invincibility frames on things like the dash attack.
