Load your Mii with gear that has loads of Control stat so any non perfect shot won't deviate stuff all from the intended line. If in range for an approach shot (blue power bar), switch to the normal bar as the approach bar moves slow losing time. If in a spot where a full shot is not needed, switch to beginner mode which hits shots faster than expert mode.
