after the first area and the area when you get the choice to have a 1UP or a star, fall down to the left and destroy the bomb block, then hop onto the warpstar. there should be a door along the path. inside the door when you land inside the cannon, tilt the 3DS to the right and fire the cannon and you have the sun stone. hope it helped!!
