Could be possible. I was lucky that there's a store around my area which started selling amiibos later... In Febuary of this year I guess, that's how I got the Kirby amiibo that easy. How about looking around the internet on a site like ebay? I'm sure you'll find one which isn't sold over $50, it's hard to find that for rare amiibos, but I'm sure there are some.
