Here's some info for you regarding coin flips in this game, the game does not tip the scales in favour of your opponent, rather the order of coin flips is decided at the start of the battle so whenever a coin flip is invoked the outcome is based on the number of coins flipped in battle so far. This can be tested easily with save states.
