The story and characters are better in XC, while XCX has better gameplay and exploration. The combat system in XCX is the same, but because X has a reclassing system for your custom character, as well as Skells and Skell customization, you get more combat options. None of the characters have visions of enemy attacks though and as mentioned, I get more satisfaction from beating the bosses in XC.
